Veneer in High Standard Hotel Furniture

1. High-end Hotel with Veneer Furniture

Wood veneer is a thin sliver cut from tree logs used in engineered wood products. Since its creation several decades ago, this has been the most appropriate method for creating surface texture for composited wood panels in terms of luxury hotel furnishings. As cutting natural tree blocks, each piece of wood veneer has a distinct wood grain. It has a naturally lovely look and provides excellent hospitality furniture standard.

We measure the thickness of wood veneer in millimeters, which is generally about 1 mm. Wood engineers do not produce wood veneer at first in order to reduce manufacturing costs for hotel bedroom furniture sets, but they do so in order to maximize the use of useable tree blocks throughout woodworking. In reality, wood veneer furniture has affordable manufacturing prices.

In other situations, though, veneer furniture might be more expensive than hotel furniture constructed of solid wood. When veneer and engineered wood are combined, they offer significant advantages over hard woods. As a result, the use of wood veneer in premium hotel furnishings is quickly growing. Tran Duc Furnishings (TDF) offers a wide range of material alternatives for bespoke hotel furniture projects.

2. Producing Veneer

The process of making veneer is uncomplicated. The materials are tree blocks, and we cut them apart like wood logs. The wood logs are then sliced in a large machine with a razor-sharp blade. This results in thin veneer sheets. Finally, substrate-dried veneer pieces are packaged into containers for delivery to hospitality furniture makers.

With veneer production, the factories may achieve cost efficiency. When any log size and even reclaimed wood pieces may be used. Because of the scarcity of forest resources, the production produces less waste and so becomes a perfect option for the environment. Rather than solid wood, tree sources can develop enough for materials in the short future. Colors and textures may be easily changed, giving considerable freedom to hospitality furniture designers.

3. Wood Veneer's Advantages Over Solid Wood

  • In hospitality furniture design, wood veneer adds to the creativity. Because it is thin and can be used flexibly to composited woodworking to meet design requirements, bespoke hotel furniture projects are easier to complete than those involving hard woods.
  • It has a natural charm about it, especially when grouped together for artwork. This is also the primary rationale for the usage of wood veneer furniture in hospitality settings.
  • When it comes to hotel furniture, it has a more steady strength than solid wood. Because solid wood is extremely difficult to modify without splits and cracks in order to meet production design requirements. Engineered wood, on the other hand, may be simply modified to fit any size need.
  • The veneer is beneficial to the environment since it expands the number of material sources available for minimizing deforestation in the natural world.

4. Wood Veneer's Drawbacks

  • Wood veneer furniture, unlike solid wood furniture, is extremely difficult to redesign. This is due to the veneer’s thinness on a millimeter scale, but it isn’t a major issue when only a few individuals need to reproduce or repair their hotel furnishings.
  • When wood veneer is combined with unqualified engineered wood, particularly chipboard furniture, blistering can occur.
